Does anyone know why Vinnie does not want to play at the Potato anymore?

The last Jazz Ministry / Fab Four / Dyno 4 gig was covered by Abe Jr. Is Gary playing with those guys now? Was there any bad blood with any of the guys or the club? Or is he just finished doing that gig?
Or could it rather simply be that he prefers the studio environment... Maybe he got tired of playing in clubs. I think he can make a good living strictly doing studio stuff...
But then one misses the Live performances soon or later too, going at it in front of an audience.
This is from Vinnie in his own words in an interview by someone in Brisbane:
Trent: - Where is the Lord taking you with your playing?
Vinnie: - For me, I sometimes wonder if and when or how long I?ll continue to play, I got really afraid about that for a while. Then I thought, ?Lord, if you want me to play, OK, if not, I don?t know what I?m gonna do but I?ve got to trust You?. And sometimes I think, ?What else would I do? Lord, is this what you?re calling me to do??
...It?s changed a lot for me. I wouldn?t even go on the road because I couldn?t even play gigs in clubs because who I used to be was so different. I was afraid. I didn?t think I was ready. I was a hermit; I went to church a lot. I wasn?t playing gigs because I didn?t want to be around that environment. I seriously questioned whether I would be able to stay in music because I thought the environment was going to be too bizarre.
I?m still playing and my passion has just been rekindled but in a different way. For example, it?s about Him and the drums are a vehicle. I could have done clinics while I was here and made more money but I said, ?No?, because rather that push it and try to do that stuff to make money and get all worked up and woodshed and be this circus monkey, I really don?t care. I?m here, I?ll play music and I?m relaxed about it and it?s been flowing. It?s been wonderful and I?m staying in the Word."
Wow! Vinnie questioning whether or not to play??? [img]eek.gif[/img] So maybe that's why he's not playing at the B.P., he doesn't want to be around that environment...????

I've hear very similar things for others who know Vinnie well.
Basically, Vinnie isn't into shredding anymore, and all about playing for feel and the song, and, as the interview says, for The Lord.
I actually saw it on this hostboard, when people were talking about Vinnie's life and habits. This person wrote in and said that if people were interested that he has an interview w/ Vinnie (that he did himself) and he would send to who ever wanted it...I asked him to send it to me and I even had a couple of e-mails back and forth with him. He writes for an Australian drum Magazine--don't know the name. I think he still frequently checks out the board... He has a great story on how the interview came about. Maybe he'll see this??

no way! i don't believe it. vinnie was born to play screwed up grooves in odd meters. he can't possibly NOT do it anymore. if this interview is in fact true....well...(i don't even want to think about it) he'll come around to his senses. don't you worry HODers! he HAS too!
